A fantastic weekend of Roman re-enactment awaits you at Caerleon Amphitheatre.
Watch the gladiators battle it out for the chance to walk away as the
victor. Be Amazed at the skill of the archers. Join the Junior Legion,
and march in the Amphitheatre; meet a Roman doctor and shop with the
Roman traders. Come and see life 2,000 years ago and have an activity
packed day out for all the family.

Meet the archaeologist and walk and talk
about the ruins in Caerleon and have a go at some archaeology inspired
activities.

There's something in the air at Caerleon, the smell of wood smoke, the
chatter of busy Romans
Meet a soldier, a cook or a trader and
learn about Roman life. You can have a go at some of the activities;
shop at the market stall or try some food and play games at the tavern.

Talk in Caerleon Endowed School Hall with a toast to the Legion in the

The Roman army is known for being disciplined and winning their battles
but the Romans didn't always have it their way! Sometimes the enemy
got the better of them and won, leading to some famous disasters for
the Romans.

Come and celebrate Christmas with us. Discover Christmas customs past
and present, make Calennigs, meet Father Christmas and learn how to
decorate your home in preparation for Saturnalia. Mulled wine and minced
pies for extra festive cheer!

Thousands of archaeological artefacts are found every year by members
of public, by recording these with the Portable Antiquities Scheme,
we can all learn more about our heritage. The talk will highlight some
recent important archaeological discoveries in Wales through public
reporting of finds.

Roman Soldier Workshops. 11am - 4pm. £1
per child.
Let your little soldier have a taste of life as a Roman! Children can
try dressing up, javelin and sword practise and meet a Roman soldier. Wednesday March
