Photographs Of What Remains Of The Castle

During construction of the house opposite the Hanbury Arms the round tower k was exposed. The brick wall seen to the left, running back from us at a right angle to the wall facing us, is built on top of the castle wall g on Coxe's plan.
Castle wall (g on Coxe's plan ) viewed from rear garden of house in Whitehart Lane. Approximate height, thirty feet (10m).  The ground level the other side, ie the inside of the castle, is about 27 feet (9m) higher.
